When was the earliest rocket?

The earliest known use of a rocket is from Greece, and dates back to 400 BC. It was claimed that a man built a wooden bird, and used steam to propel the bird down a line of string. It is also said that many of ancient Chinese alchemists would use black powder to make various rockets. Though evidence of this is lacking, the Chinese would go on to pioneer rockets through warfare.

Are rockets a safety hazard?

YES THEY ARE! And for obvious reasons. But the rocket while dangerous, is actually getting more safe with the advancement of technology. The propellent used in a rocket is generally the most dangerous element. Failures within the fuel system can have catastrophic effects. These failures are also costly, and can shutdown scientific, military, and commercial operations.

Purpose of a rocket?

A rocket has many uses, and is known as a piece of technology that has changed the course of human history. Most people consider rockets for military use, and while this is true, not all rockets have such purpose. Rockets help propel us into space, and continue to be the best way to leave orbit. Rockets have also recently become a commercial venture. Rocket travel/ space tourism are on the rise, and may soon be the next big use of rocket tech.

What was the biggest rocket ever?

The Saturn V from Nasa is considered the largest rocket in the world. The rocket could lift a 45 ton payload, and weighed 6.5 million pounds. The rocket was used between 1967 to 1973, and used a three stage thrust system to achieve desired altitude. Each launch would cost around $185 million dollars, and was mostly made by Boeing.
